Tyreek Hill Commits to Dolphins After Uncertain End to 2024 Season
Tyreek Hill Reaffirms Commitment to Miami Amid Offseason Speculation
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has put to rest any doubts about his future with the team after a turbulent end to the 2024 season. Despite checking himself out of Week 18 and hinting at potential frustration with the franchise, Hill now confirms he remains committed to staying in Miami.
Hill Clarifies His Stance After Controversial Season Finale
During an appearance on Up & Adams, Hill reassured host Kay Adams that he has no intention of leaving the Dolphins. When asked whether he owed an apology to his teammates for his actions in Week 18, Hill confidently stated that they “already know” he is not that type of player.
Though Hill never officially requested a trade, speculation arose after he expressed frustration at the team’s situation. Reports now suggest his concerns were more about improving the roster rather than seeking an exit. Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson indicated that Hill wanted the team to make moves that would ensure playoff success moving forward.
Dolphins Stand by Hill Despite Speculation
General Manager Chris Grier previously confirmed that no trade request was ever made, and Hill’s agent backed up claims that the star receiver remained open to continuing his journey in Miami.
Despite having three years left on his four-year, $120 million extension, the Dolphins restructured Hill’s contract, guaranteeing $54 million to satisfy his request for more security. While his deal was once the richest among NFL receivers, players like Justin Jefferson have since surpassed him in earnings.
A Challenging 2024 Season for Hill and the Dolphins
The 2024 campaign was a disappointing one for Hill, as he failed to reach 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since 2019. He finished with 959 yards, in part due to Tua Tagovailoa missing six games. Hill also played through a wrist injury suffered during training camp but avoided surgery.
With Jaylen Waddle also facing struggles, the Dolphins hope for better quarterback health and offensive adjustments to reignite their once-dominant passing attack in 2025. Hill remains a key piece of Miami’s offense, and if the team can improve around him, he could return to his All-Pro form next season.
