Recent WWE Talent Departures and Releases
The road to WrestleMania has taken a hit as WWE recently released several superstars or chose not to renew their contracts. While the reasons behind these departures remain unclear, many released stars are now under a 90-day non-compete clause. Here’s a list of notable names who are no longer with WWE.
Duke Hudson
A fan-favorite in NXT, Hudson found success in Chase U, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship. After six years with WWE, his last match aired on NXT in October 2024.
Cedric Alexander
A former Cruiserweight Champion and Hurt Business member, Alexander spent eight years in WWE. His last match was a loss to Ethan Page on NXT in January 2025.
Akam, Rezar & Paul Ellering (AOP)
The Authors of Pain were released for a second time alongside their legendary manager, Paul Ellering. Once dominant in NXT and Raw, they were last seen in The Final Testament stable with Karrion Kross.
Sonya Deville
A trailblazer as WWE’s first openly gay female superstar, Deville’s contract won’t be renewed. The former Women’s Tag Team Champion last competed in the 2025 Royal Rumble.
Blair Davenport
A former NXT UK standout, Davenport had a brief main roster run in 2024. She last wrestled Chelsea Green in the WWE Women’s U.S. Championship tournament.
Isla Dawn
A former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion and one-half of The Unholy Union, Dawn’s last match was a loss to Shotzi in a tournament for the WWE Speed Women’s Championship.
Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson
The former OC members, known for their Bullet Club legacy, have been released. Their last WWE match was on NXT in September 2024.
Giovanni Vinci
A former Imperium member, Vinci held the NXT Tag Team Championship twice. He was ousted from Imperium in April 2024 and quietly phased out of WWE programming.
Elektra Lopez
Lopez was a part of Legado Del Fantasma but never had a major singles push. Her last match was a loss to Tiffany Stratton in the WWE Women’s U.S. Championship tournament.
These departures mark a major shift in WWE’s roster as WrestleMania approaches.
