Kemar Roofe: Career Overview
Born in Walsall, Roofe began his football journey at West Bromwich Albion’s academy. Roofe’s breakthrough came at Oxford United, where he netted six goals in 16 appearances during the second half of the 2014/15 season, earning a permanent move.
Rising Through the Ranks
The 2015/16 season saw Roofe explode onto the scene, scoring 18 league goals and 26 in all competitions, helping Oxford secure promotion to League One. His performances earned him a place in the 2015/16 PFA League Two Team of the Year and caught the attention of Leeds United.
At Elland Road, Roofe found the net 33 times, including four goals against Derby, as he played a key role in Leeds’ transformation from mid-table strugglers to promotion contenders.
Success in Europe
After a brief stint with Belgian side Anderlecht, Roofe made the switch to Rangers in 2020, where he scored 18 goals in his debut season—including a stunning long-range effort that won the UEFA Europa League Goal of the Season award.
During his four-year tenure at Ibrox, Roofe contributed 20 more goals and lifted the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, and Scottish League Cup.
