Sami Zayn Ruled “Out Indefinitely” Following Brutal Unsanctioned Match at WWE Elimination Chamber
Sami Zayn is expected to be off WWE television for the foreseeable future after sustaining severe injuries during his Unsanctioned Match against Kevin Owens at Elimination Chamber.
Zayn Reaggravates Neck and Spinal Issues
On the March 3 episode of WWE Raw, Michael Cole announced that Zayn is “out indefinitely” due to a reaggravated neck injury, nerve issues, and spinal complications. These injuries were reportedly worsened during his intense match against Owens at the March 1 pay-per-view in Toronto, Canada.
Zayn’s health concerns date back to a Package Piledriver from Owens on the post-Royal Rumble edition of Raw, which initially caused significant damage.
Brutal Unsanctioned Match Ends in Defeat for Zayn
The high-stakes Unsanctioned Match saw Zayn and Owens battle across the arena, delivering multiple table spots, referee bumps, and even a barbed wire chair sequence. Ultimately, Owens secured the victory after delivering multiple Apron Powerbombs to his longtime rival.
Randy Orton Returns to Save Zayn from Further Damage
Following the match, Owens attempted to inflict even more punishment with another Package Piledriver, but Randy Orton made a shocking return to stop the assault. Orton delivered a devastating RKO to Owens and attempted a punt kick, but WWE officials and security intervened before he could execute the move.
With Zayn sidelined indefinitely, fans will have to wait for updates on his condition and potential return to WWE programming.
