The Hardy Boyz Set for WWE Return on February 25th
Tag team legends Matt and Jeff Hardy are officially set to return to WWE television on February 25th, marking a highly anticipated moment for wrestling fans.
The Challenge That Set Up The Hardys’ Return
During the February 18th edition of WWE NXT, No Quarter Catch Crew’s Tavion Heights and Myles Borne confronted Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom backstage. While many expected them to challenge Fraxiom for the titles, NQCC instead issued a bold challenge to one of the greatest tag teams of all time—The Hardys.
Later in the night, Matt and Jeff Hardy appeared via video to accept the challenge. Jeff emphasized that The Hardys are still innovating and influencing the wrestling world, while Matt invited Fraxiom to watch from ringside, teasing a potential showdown between NXT and TNA Tag Team Champions in the near future.
Triple H Hypes Up The Hardys’ WWE Return
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H took to social media to acknowledge the impact of The Hardy Boyz on the wrestling industry:
“Two men who have redefined tag-team wrestling for over 25 years. The Hardy Boyz have reached the pinnacle of our industry (and often jumped off of it) to the amazement of fans worldwide… and they return to a @WWE ring NEXT WEEK on #WWENXT in Cincinnati.”
Their return isn’t the only TNA crossover happening next week, as another champion from TNA is also set to make a surprise appearance on NXT.
The Hardys’ Last WWE Tag Team Match
The last time Matt and Jeff Hardy teamed up on WWE television was on April 9, 2019, when they defeated The Usos on SmackDown to capture the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Unfortunately, their reign was cut short just three weeks later when Jeff suffered a knee injury, forcing them to vacate the titles.
Now, nearly five years later, The Hardys are back in a WWE ring, and fans are eager to see if they can still dominate the tag team division.
